USPS inspector helps with drug bust | Crime
An alert United States Postal Service inspector identified the Grant County Sheriff's Office to a suspicious package that led to a marijuana and cocaine bust in Royal City.
After the USPS called the sheriff's office on Dec. 4 to inspect the package, which included an address that didn't exist, K-9 findings resulted in a federal search warrant to open the package. Three pounds of marijuana were found inside. In cooperation with the USPS, Grant County's Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team resealed the package and made it available for delivery to the addressee.
The suspect, 26-year-old Moises J. Tello Quintana, picked up the package and returned to his residence, where he was arrested. INET also found about ten grams of cocaine in the home.
Quintana was booked into the Grant County Jail for possession of marijuana and cocaine with intent to deliver.
