Police break up heroin trafficking ring

A significant intrastate heroin trafficking ring has been busted by Grant County law enforcement officers and western Washington police investigators.

The team of officers and investigators spent several months uncovering a heroin trafficking ring which was moving drugs btween Moses Lake and the Seattle area. Several people were taken into custody and heroin was seized when a search warrant was executed last week.

Detectives determined the heroin was coming from the Seattle area. The detectives teamed up with the Eastside Narcotics Task Force in Bellevue to further the investigation.

Undercover drug boys were used in the Seattle area resulting in five arrests. Two of the arrests were Matthew R. Dizzard, 25, and Caspar J.S. Wandler, 22. Both men were from Seattle.

Investigators seized over four ounces of heroin, a handgun and almost $7,000 in cash.

The investigation is continuing and will be supervised by the Grant County Sheriff's Office, INET detectives, Washington State Patrol, Quincy Police Department and Moses Lake Police Department.
